Have fun teeing off!
Improving your handicap in your sleep is what every golfer dreams of! Perhaps you will succeed in our golf themed room, because with a "putting green in the middle of the room", the chances are good. Of course, you still have to practise yourself and for this you will find golf balls and putters (for left and right-handers) waiting for you in your room. So nothing stands in the way of improving your handicap overnight from 36 to 20 to 10. Depending on how long you stay ;o)
The Ingolstadt club's 18-hole golf course is designed for par 70. It is located in the west of the city in a flat landscape. It is characterised by numerous water hazards, so that golfers have to be careful not to land their golf ball in one of the streams or ponds.

Delft Blue, typically Dutch? - The origin goes back to the beginning of the 17th century. The ships of the VOC (United East India Company) brought spices and porcelain decorated in blue on white from China. This porcelain quickly became extremely popular among the wealthy of the time. When imports came to a standstill due to a civil war in China, Dutch potteries seized their opportunity and began producing Delft pottery, now known worldwide as a purely Dutch product ;o)

Afrika Room
Hakuna Matata - Worries always stay away from you!
The theme of Africa is not just very popular, it also has historical significance for our hotel. A direct ancestor of the Block hotelier family was the famous African explorer from Vegesack: Gerhard Rohlfs (1831-1896). In 1865, he was the first person to cross the Sahara! The adventurer became an admired geographer and explorer who used photography to document archaeological excavations for the first time on later expeditions.
In contrast to Rohlfs, who travelled across Africa, you can relax with us today! You can enjoy the warm, sandy world of colour that resembles a pleasant dune landscape and an African "sundowner". The view from the bathroom through the wide panoramic window will transport you to distant daydreams and the wide open spaces of the Sahara! Maritime flair finds its way here. Portholes, ship's planks, driftwood and an original nautical chart of the German Bight point the way.
Everything points to the close connection to northern Germany. It goes without saying that there has to be at least one North German room in the BLOCK Hotel & Living! Owner Carolin Block's family comes from the Ammerland region - more precisely from Bad Zwischenahn. Ammerland is about 800 kilometres from Upper Bavaria. Larger towns in the area are Oldenburg and Bremen.
And when the senior manager, Karl-Heinz Block, moved to the heart of Bavaria in 1960, he took a piece of home with him and, together with his wife Renate, named this hotel: AMMERLAND, which has now become BLOCK Hotel & Living.
